My world is all design, science, myth and my effort to abandon their distinctions. As a designer I am especially keen on books, their interiors, posters and good typography. My effort is to understand and learn and explore beyond design and its routines, to approach design with a balance of thinking-by-doing and reflection. I like to imagine a setting where design would allow for accessibility of information above all else—as a method of translation. There is little room for needless complexity, and I feel the strength of design is in its ability to minimize confusion. I view its practice as an act of questioning and pushing and blurring.

This is the way I see things.

I was born in New York City, in the middle of summer, in the middle of the day. My earliest and most vivid memories are of natural curiosities and dog-days spent outdoors. I grew obsessed with the sciences and would spend my time with field guilds on geology, plants and animals. My pursuits have widened and now I find myself decidedly interested in most everything, of which, design sits comfortably at the peak. I am very fond of reading; my office and shelves are stocked with pages on design and science, fiction, non-fiction and poetry, plenty of movies and music, binoculars, papers and all my work and musing and reverie.
